Wine Lover’s Tour of Peljesac Peninsula - 0 Day

Tasting Wines of Croatian South, discovering ages of tradition

Wine has been a part of civilization for thousands of years. In Croatia it is tied to a long tradition of living off the land in this beautiful, but often harsh landscape. Enjoy a trip around the country’s premier wine growing region and taste the terroir of Croatia.

You will travel along scenic roads among the scattered villages and hills covered with vineyards to meet some of the people responsible for bringing top class Croatian wine to the table of many local and international restaurants. Accompanying the group, will be a dedicated local guide with a true passion for Peljesac and its wines. This tour includes wine tastings and presentations at two family owned wineries and a lovely homemade snack at one of them. You will also visit a beautiful historic town of Ston, famous for its ancient salt factory and long defensive walls.

We look forward to you joining us on a trip through wonderful Dubrovnik Riviera and learning about the past and the present of local wine making.

Frequently asked Questions

What kind of wines are we trying?

We will be focusing mostly on Plavac Mali variety, indigenous to this area, known for producing medium to full bodied red wines.

Do you have to be knowledgeable about wines to enjoy this tour?

Not at all, our tours are designed to appeal to both wine experts who are going to learn something about Croatian indigenous variety(ies) or beginners who will get an introduction into the world of wine making and wine tasting

Is this tour good to do on a very hot day?

Yes. Many of our guests are cautious about booking this tour on hot summer days because of possible exhaustion, but actually most of our time (outside of the short tour of Ston) is spent in air conditioned van or cool wine cellars... so this is a perfect choice to escape the heat.

Will I have an option of buying wine at the wineries?

Yes. All the wineries we work with have an option of selling their wines on the spot, with some offering international shipping and credit card payments, and others insisting on cash payments becuase of the technical limitations.

My spouse is not crazy about wine, will he be bored?

Wine is just one (very important) aspect of this tour. We will also enjoy local history, wonderful sceneries, plenty of interesting stories, and delicious local food.
