History vs. Game of Thrones

Comparing Dubrovnik’s History with Game of Thrones, while discovering filming locations of the “King’s Landing”

Are you a fan of Game of Thrones series, but also don’t want to pass over a chance to learn about the rich history of Dubrovnik? Maybe you are a couple or a group where not everyone is a fan of the show, but still want to enjoy discovering a bit of the TV magic of a real life movie set? If so, this is a perfect tour for you.

Dubrovnik is rightfully seen as one of the most important living historical monuments in this part of Europe, but is recently hailed as one of the more active filming locations for various big budgeted movie or TV productions. The most famous of those in the last several years was HBO’s series Game of Thrones which used Dubrovnik as the real life setting for ‘Kings Landing’. Accompanied by a licensed local guide, a fan of the show, you will get to discover the filming locations of the show and re-live some of the most interesting parts of the story. Seeing how Dubrovnik boasts incredibly complex and interesting history of its own that sometimes seems to be mimicked by the popular movies and shows, your guide will give you some real life stories from the local history that are just as exciting (and some even more) than what you see on screen.

Be prepared to dive into the fantasy world of George R. R. Martin and enjoy a one of a kind tour of Dubrovnik where we are off to prove once more that truth is indeed stranger than fiction.
